The
benefits

  • It’s less disruptive, as the works are done outside.
  • It doesn’t reduce the footprint of any rooms.
  • It can improve the external appearance of your home, as multiple finished are possible.
  • It can make your home more soundproof and weather-resistant.
  • It fills/covers cracks and gaps in external brickwork, which can then reduce draughts.
  • There’s a lower chance of ‘cold spots’ causing condensation and mould on the inside of the walls of your property. This is because the insulating material is applied continuously, without leaving any gaps.

Is my home suitable?

It’s costly compared to other services, so we advise that it’s probably best to arrange for it to be done at the same time as other external work on your home, as this could help reduce the cost long term.
You may need to get planning permission, so check with your local council.
Our team will need to be able to easily access the outer walls of your home, so if you live in a terrace house/property, they may need to carry scaffolding through the property.
It’s not suitable if the exterior walls of your home are dilapidated and can’t be repaired before installing external house insulation.
It’s not suitable for period/character properties.
All external pipework, other fittings, and any other external items will need to be removed and replaced.
You may have to extend window sills or roof eaves, to accommodate the extra thickness of your exterior wall.
It can sometimes prevent older walls in period properties breathing.
This is a specialist service and not suitable for DIY.
